The Position
The Regional Account Manager is responsible to plan, direct, organize
and manage business for his/her customer(s) in his/her region for the
company in support of the Group corporate vision and mission by
developing and implementing operating procedures and planning for
business growth and innovation.
This will be achieved in a decentralized environment by managing,
enabling, encouraging and coordinating the support of all divisions and
business units. The Regional Account Manager will also encourage staff
departments to apply their best efforts in generating network
reliability, service quality maximization and sustained productivity
improvement while ensuring adherence to corporate policies and disciplines.
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Responsibilities:
-Establish personal relationships with account key decision making
managers for all business divisions with transportation and logistics
related needs. Nurture those relationships with regular review meetings,
proactive telephone and email communication and a constant honest
exchange of information. Learn exactly what our company does for the
customer and be constantly on the look out for new opportunities for
both us and the customers
-Ensure revenue growth of assigned accounts meets corporate goals. Take
all actions within realm of authority to improve or maintain required
account EBIT levels.
-Produce accurate, timely and relevant account documentation and
reports, presentations, tender responses, contracts and correspondence
for external and internal consumption. Meet deadlines with completely
staffed and finished products.
-Adhere to good management practices of completely analyzing issues and
problems before taking action; reviewing action plan status regularly;
and following up with entities involved before deadlines are missed.
-Maintain and foster excellent communication within the organization.
Act as point of contact for all issues involving the account.
-Maintain a continual awareness of industry trends and what we and our
competitors are doing to meet them. Maintain an awareness of internal
developments and how they can benefit global customers.
-Frequent international travel
-Frequent irregular hours across different time zones as required
Experience and Attributes Required:
-High demand for personal flexibility.
-Extensive experience in marketing sales/account management in
international B2B for Logistics.
-Strong Market Sector awareness including supply chain structures,
developments and requirements.
-Communication capability at senior/board level, both internally and
externally.
-Recognized general and people management skills.
-Strong proven analytical, conceptual and strategic skills.
-Ability to interpret and apply Value Based Management principles,
financial reporting, ROI.
-Project management skills.
-Fluent use of written and spoken English.
-Competent use of computer tools e.g. MS Office and Lotus Notes.
-Strong networker.
-Positive and professional approach with ability to protect and project
the image and reputation of the organization.
-Highly motivated, persistent, results driven attitude.
