DESCRIPTION:
The Operations Manager will manage and plan the Tokyo's office operations
and to ensure operational productivity, quality, security and costs targets
are met and standard procedures are followed. S/he'll provide leadership and
motivation to staff and monitor their productivity, development and
satisfaction, and hence will be on hand to provide all operational support
where required.
The OM principal accountabilities and duties within the role will include
the following:
- Overall operational business management
- Ensuring monthly operational targets are met
- Ensuring pick-up, delivery and shipment processing services are executed
in line with company standards and targets
- Planning, monitoring, negotiating and controlling expenditure on in-house
operations, air/ocean carriers and ground transport / customs related
sub-contractors.
The Operations Manager will also ensure compliance with all security
policies and HSE guidelines, and will be involved in the HR management
function for the service centre, including hiring, coaching, training and
supporting all staff.
With excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, the successful
candidate will have significant experience in a team-leading operational
management environment, ideally from within a plant & projects' transport
and logistics background. The Operations Manager will also hold excellent
communications skills and a focus on customer relations.
