DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Company Manager while functionally reporting to the
Vice-President of Marketing for the Asia Pacific Region he or she will
manage the brand integrity of the show's intellectual property,
proactively seek promotional opportunities and also drive initiatives
that maximize sales for the show.
Marketing Responsibilities
-Develop and implement marketing strategies for resident show in
conjunction with the Vice President of Marketing Asia Pacific, that are
designed to achieve predetermined annual sales targets.
-Brand management including approval of all advertising featuring
trademarks
-Develop specific advertising, promotions, on line marketing and PR
campaigns to be implemented on an annual basis.
-Recommend appropriate market research requirements.
-Guide the implementation of marketing strategies in Japan and its
associated feeder markets whilst ensuring that the brand and its
sub-brands are respected;
-Initiate regular partner strategy meetings in order to develop and
assess new and ongoing strategies for advertising, media planning,
production, market research and promotions;
-Work with partners, agencies and vendors, manages and approves the
development and oversight of annual marketing budgets;
-Lead the development of specific promotional advertising creative in an
effort to position as a distinct entertainment experience, while
speaking appropriately to a specific target audience and maintaining the
brand standards;
-Seek input from internal marketing team, partners and agencies to
develop strategies to address major occupancy declines. From those
sessions, lead the development and presentation of a comprehensive
recovery strategy;
-In collaboration with our partner, lead the development of internet
advertising
-Identify, implement and assess new opportunities in internet marketing
and media
-Monitor the effectiveness of all advertising efforts and make
recommendations for revisions as necessary. Where possible, sets up
metrics to receive direct feedback;
-Develop and implements market research, segmentation and customer
satisfaction surveys;
-Assists Brand Dept with research to assess target markets, pricing and
feasibility for potential new shows and projects and other research as
requested;
-Seek out innovative ideas for new marketing activities and potential
vendors or partners to assist with increasing the visibility of shows
and their respective sales objectives;
-Approve and/or guide the approval of all marketing, advertising and
collateral materials produced by , vendors and agencies.
-Oversees and approves collaboration with , cross-promotions and work to
identify ways to increase strategic integration;
-Development of the public relations strategy in co-ordination with the
show publicist;
Sales Responsibilities
-Provide support to the Group Sales Department in the form of strategy
development, familiarization trips, promotional activity, etc.
-Manage the development of specific sales materials for and partners
-Proactively create relationships with Partner Hotels to drive concierge
programs, packaging opportunities, on-property exposure
-Develop relationships with Restaurants for packaging and promotions
-Develop relationships with travel agents, meeting planners, corporate
clients, wholesalers and destination management consultants to drive
increased sales
-Develop relationships with various sales channels including PIA and
Lorson ? to ensure that exposure is maximized, sales opportunities are
fully explored and customer service standards are achieved to standards
-Create awareness and actively sell and solicit attendance by
participating in trade shows and other industry functions;
-Produce weekly and monthly group booking reports and analysis;
-In collaboration with key Sales & Marketing managers, develop and
implement strategic action plans to proactively identify and develop new
sales channels;
-Develop promotional, incentive and awareness programs with key
influences and target market segments;
-Develop methods for tracking program results and submit weekly and
monthly reports as required;
-Develop and maintain sales database and contact files;
-Maintain thorough knowledge of the group sales market and key players,
including an understanding of competitors' products and pricing;
-Supervise the Publicist Agent;
-Travel as required;
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
-Five + years' related sales experience, preferably including one year
of hotel sales or entertainment sales experience;
-Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and
negotiating skills as well as the ability to persuade others;
-A highly flexible and adaptable personality;
-Effective decision-making and listening abilities with strong judgment
skills;
-Excellent organizational skills and the ability to function under time
constraints and within established deadlines;
-Proficiency in all computer systems, including MS Office (Excel, Word,
Outlook, PowerPoint);
-Ability to maintain a professional image and enthusiastic attitude at
all times.
