DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:
This position is a senior management role. The job description below is a general description of the sales function within this company. Additionally, the Sales Director will be expected to manage a team of 50+ staff.

The Sales Director position manages sales processes in accordance with approved sales and marketing plans. The Director will comprehend and utilize product features, benefits and applications accompanied with selling skills to successfully promote and consummate the sale of Company products and services to achieve or exceed the assigned sales plan.

Essential Functions

PLAN PERFORMANCE AND SALES SKILLS
- Achieve or exceed the sales plan by maintaining existing business, developing incremental business in existing accounts.
- Demonstrate use of selling skills in the field, such as making good opening statements, connecting with the customer, asking high gain questions, creating the value proposition and closing.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
- Call on all organizational levels and functional areas which influence purchasing decisions.
- Develop, write, and execute a business plan annually, updated quarterly.
- Develop presentations and customer proposals for such things as supply agreements, supply contracts and preferred vendor agreements with assistance from RM, Marketing and/or Technical Sales Specialist
- Host and assist product shows either at assigned accounts or locally on a routine basis such as semi annually.
- Set up and coordinate technical seminars by internal customers such as Research & Development, Marketing and / or Technical Sales Specialist either on customers site or locally annually or more frequently.
- Maintain and increase current customer database through Company customer relations management software.
- Utilize data sources to analyze and capitalize on territory opportunities with the greatest ROI. Communicate key competitive activities, trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities, which includes emerging customers.
- Attain or exceed assigned sales goals, profit goals, and market share goals consistently with respect to expense guidelines.

Qualifications:
- Experience selling to pharmaceutical firms or universities
- Management experience, minimum of 20+
- Successful sales track record
- 10+ years experience in healthcare industr
